Q & A with Megan

Q. Tips for our dancers?

A. Always work your absolute hardest and never take a single day of dance for granted. Before you know it, you will be the graduating senior leaving your dance family. These are the best days of your life. Dance with your heart, and don't leave wishing you had put more effort in while you still had the chance. The opportunity to dance at a place like Gasper's is truly amazing, make it the best experience possible! :)

Q. Working the front desk, what is your favorite thing about your day?

A. The favorite thing about my day definitely has to be seeing all the friendly faces and getting to connect more and more with the people here at Gasper's. Oh, and also laughing constantly with Ariel.

Q. What is your favorite snack?

A. This is a tough one. I love all food and I'm the least pickiest person there is. But if I had to narrow it down, I'd say cheesecake, kit kats, or sloppy joes!

Q. What inspired you as a dancer?

A. Throughout my 13 years of dance, I was continually inspired by my coach. She was like my second mother while I was at my second home (the studio). She was not wanted me to succeed in the dance world, but outside in the real world as well. I remember many life lesson speeches we received from her. I always wanted to live up to her expectations she had for me, follow her advice, and even offer it to others. She is a hard working woman, and to this day she still inspires me.

Megan is from the small town of Isle, MN with a population of only 751. The arts have always held a special place in her heart. She started playing piano in the first grade, saxophone in fifth grade, joined choir in seventh grade, and has been part of multiple school musicals and plays.

Additionally, Megan danced at Music General Dance Studio in Brainerd, MN where she trained in tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, and ballet for 13 years. Her favorite style of dance is tap. Being a part of the company line dancers, Megan and her teammates have won multiple regional as well as National titles. Their team tap numbers have been nominated for multiple Industry Dance Awards and even have been selected as the National Industry Dance Award Best Tap in 2016.

Megan is currently going into her second year at Concordia College (Moorhead) as a Junior. She wishes to attain a degree in Political Science with a minor in International Affairs, and hopes to go onto law school upon graduating in May 2021.
